Bauma 2025: core sensing presents digital innovations together with partners

The world’s leading trade fair for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines, construction vehicles and construction equipment

Across more than 600,000 m², over 3,600 companies from around the world presented their products and services in Munich. core sensing was there too—just as in 2022. The company could be found in the Innovation Hall, surrounded by numerous other startups and scaleups shaping the technological future.

core sensing presents wireless, sensor-integrated solutions for condition monitoring and predictive

It was encouraging to see how much awareness of the issue and the level of information around sensor-based condition monitoring have developed further since Bauma 2022. The “why” has now been answered—today, the focus is clearly on the “how”.

Construction machinery has its own specific requirements when it comes to sensors and condition monitoring:

They are often highly customized, produced in small quantities, and play a central role in operations—downtime is therefore associated with high costs and must be avoided at all costs. At the same time, operating conditions are extreme—far removed from typical industrial or laboratory environments.

This is exactly where our integrated, application-specific sensor solutions for force and torque measurement provide decisive added value. Accordingly, visitor interest in our systems for condition monitoring and predictive maintenance was very high.

Condition monitoring for conveyor systems through networked monitoring of rolling bearings in carrying idlers in cooperation with Artur Küpper GmbH & Co. KG

Bulk material conveyor belts are key elements of the value chain in many material-handling industries. Unplanned downtime caused by bearing wear on carrying idlers must be avoided at all costs—until now, this has usually been done through time-consuming, manually performed inspections that are difficult to track.
Together with our partner Artur Küpper, we have introduced the Sensing Idler Wireless: an easily integrable temperature sensor that continuously monitors the condition of the bearings inside the carrying rollers and transmits the data to the cloud via a networked wireless system. This significantly reduces the risk of failure and sustainably lowers process costs. https://www.kuepper.eu/

“XtraSense” – condition monitoring and assistance system for tilt rotators and slewing drives in cooperation with HKS

Slewing drives enable precise and flexible positioning of attachments—an essential efficiency factor on the construction site. Fewer repositioning operations not only speed up work processes, but also protect the ground.
In collaboration with core sensing, XtraSense was developed—an innovative, load-measuring variant of the tilt rotator. For the first time, the system provides data-based insights into the operation of the slewing drives, enabling targeted, predictive maintenance.
Especially in the high-end segment, where using slewing drives previously required specialist know-how, XtraSense sets new standards: intuitive assistance functions make operation significantly easier—a true game changer for operators and owners. https://www.hks-partner.com/de/

Sensor systems to increase the efficiency of drilling processes – in cooperation with EMDE and Hatlapa

Documenting process data plays a central role in many drilling applications—especially in pile drilling. The wireless torque transducer coreFLANGE provides precise insights into the drilling process for the first time and delivers reliable, documentable process data directly from the field.  https://emde-bohrtechnik.de/ https://www.guh-messtec.de/

Condition monitoring of bolted joints using strain-gauge-based force sensing

There are various approaches to sensor-based bolts on the market. Our concept is based on proven coreIN technology and combines precise measurement using strain gauges with modern IoT connectivity.
Our smart bolts are currently in the pilot phase and are not yet commercially available. They enable the measurement of axial forces, bending moments and torques—making them ideal for demanding applications across a wide range of fields.

Vibration and acceleration sensors for condition monitoring of construction machinery and mining

Vibration and acceleration sensors have long been established in condition monitoring across many industries. However, particularly in the construction and mining sectors, harsh operating conditions place special demands on sensors—standard solutions quickly reach their limits here.
This is exactly where the deeply integrated and particularly robust sensor solutions from core sensing offer a decisive advantage—and therefore attracted strong interest from users in these sectors.

Presentation at the Bauma Forum “Digitization on the Construction Site”

Our colleague Christoph Miks had the opportunity to present core sensing and our perspective on digitization in construction and mining. The response was consistently positive—we received a great deal of approval and tangible interest in our solution portfolio, both from the organizer VDMA and from numerous participants. A perfect finale to a great Bauma 2025. Thank you—and we look forward to seeing you again in three years!
