KÜPPER presents intelligent monitoring system for conveyor belt systems
Artur Küpper GmbH & Co. KG, a leading provider of components and systems for the bulk solids industry, presented the innovative “Küpper Sensing Idler” monitoring system at Exponor 2024, the international mining technology trade fair in Antofagasta, Chile. Together with Artur Küpper, we have developed a system that enables precise monitoring of conveyor belt systems and the early detection of potential failures.
The biennial Exponor is an important platform for the mining industry in Chile and South America. This year, over 850 exhibitors from 30 countries presented themselves to around 40,000 trade visitors. KÜPPER used the trade fair to showcase its broad portfolio of products and solutions for the bulk solids industry, including the Sensing Idler system.
Intelligent monitoring for maximum safety
The “Küpper Sensing Idler” conveyor rollers with integrated Sensing Idler NODE temperature sensors ensure precise temperature measurement directly at the bearing – for maximum safety and efficiency of the conveyor belt. The essential properties of the intelligent rollers do not differ from standard rollers, and they can be put into operation without additional effort: sensors integrated into the rollers measure the temperature and send the data wirelessly and continuously in real time to a cloud platform. This evaluates the data and alerts the operator of the conveyor belt system at an early stage in the event of overheating. This prevents costly downtime and system fires.
