coreIN
Torque driveshafts with integrated speed and power measurement for industry and agricultural technology
- Battery life up to 12 months
- Wide variety of driveshafts available
- Seamless integration via gateway ensured
How to get your coreIN Sensor
- Please share the key data of your planned sensor integration with us in an email, feel free to include drawings, images, and CAD files.
- In an initial orientation meeting, a sensor specialist will discuss the feasibility and desired configuration of the sensor, as well as any special requirements. The design will also consider the expected resolution and quality of the sensor.
- We will prepare a quote for the sensor; we can calculate with parts provided by you or have them manufactured by our partners. A typical delivery time for new coreIN sensors is 8 weeks after order placement.
- After delivery, a brief remote commissioning or instruction is included in our offer. If desired, our Data Science specialists can assist with the evaluation and processing of measurement data.
Advantages of Torque Driveshafts compared to conventional measuring adapters
Torque Driveshaft Integrated | Torque Sensor Adapted |
|---|---|
| No mechanical modification to the drivetrain | Mechanically modified drivetrain |
| Sensor and measurement electronics rotate with the shaft, Plug and Play | Stator and bearing block required, additional installation space |
| No wiring, integrated battery enables autonomous operation | Wiring and permanent power supply necessary |
| Configuration, data display, and logging via user-friendly app | Additional equipment and specialized know-how required |
| Additional measured variables: speed, 3D acceleration | Usually only torque measurement possible |
| All existing protective housings and safety systems are retained | Structural changes, often safety-critical |
| Suitable for field tests, real-world operation, and series applications | Primarily suitable for laboratory use |
The simple way to measure torque
- No modifications to the drivetrain – ready for immediate measurement
- Wireless data transmission – flexible, mobile, secure
- Intuitive app operation – no special hardware required
- Suitable for development and series production – also for small series and individual pieces
- Measuring range 0.1 ... 10 kNm - depending on shaft (expandable)
Industrial Driveshafts
For Industry and Vehicle Construction
Our preferred manufacturer for the integration of coreIN sensors into cardan, universal, and ball joint shafts is the Elbe Group.
Sensor Integration
The sensor integration is realized by a coreIN sensor, which is pressed into a precisely designed bore in the profiled inner part of the length compensation (sliding part). This creates a robust connection that enables accurate measurements without altering the design of the driveshaft.
The antenna and charging port are attached to the fork area using a plastic ring.
Power Supply
Power is supplied via an integrated, rechargeable Li-ion battery. Depending on the configuration, the battery capacity is 2,800 to 5,200 mAh.
This allows for a continuous runtime of 250 to 500 hours at a transmission rate of 1 signal per second. Depending on the application, this runtime can be significantly extended. Please feel free to contact us about this!
Frequency and Range
Depending on the application, a transmission rate of up to 1,000 signals per second is possible. Settings can be adjusted as required and easily via the voreVIEWER app.
Depending on the installation situation, the wireless range is up to 30 m. Gateways, external antennas, and repeaters also provide solutions for challenging environments.
Typical Data Processing
- Visualization in the coreVIEWER App
- Logging on internal memory or mobile device
- PLC integration via coreGATE – e.g., 0-10V
- System integration via coreGATE – e.g., TCP/IP or MQTT
- Cloud Dashboard via coreGATE – e.g., LTE or TCP/IP
Typical Applications
- Research and Development
- Condition Monitoring
- Predictive Maintenance
- Safety Features
- End of Line Testing
PTO Shafts
For Agriculture
Our preferred PTO shafts for coreIN sensor integration are the W2400 and W2500 series from Walterscheid.
Sensor Integration
Sensor integration is implemented using a coreIN sensor that is press-fitted into an S4 profile shaft. This creates a robust connection that enables precise measurements without changing the design of the drive shaft. This shaft can be cut to any length before integration.
The antenna and charging port are positioned at the end face of the shaft, ensuring no interference during operation.
Power Supply
The power supply is ensured by an integrated, rechargeable Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 5,200 mAh.
This allows for a continuous runtime of up to 500 hours at a transmission rate of 1 signal per second. Depending on the application, this runtime can be significantly extended. Please feel free to contact us about this!
